Jenny Matthews was born in 1964 and grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. She studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art under Elizabeth Blackadder (who taught Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Garden), John Houston and Ann Oram. Jenny graduated in 1986 with a BA (Hons) in Drawing and Painting.
Jenny has earned her reputation as an accomplished Scottish watercolourist, exhibiting extensively in the UK and abroad over the last 21years. Her paintings can be seen in the Tolquhon Gallery in Aberdeenshire, Frames Gallery in Perth and Thompson's Aldeburgh. She exhibits at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW).
Jenny also works to commission: favourite garden flowers and garden portraits.

Jenny's paintings are in the collections of Ian Rankin (crime writer) and Miranda Harvey, Adam and Co, Brodies, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Hewlett Packard, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, Murrayfield Hospital, Paintings in Hospitals and Walter Scott and Partners, as well as in private collections worldwide.

Jenny has lived in France and Indonesia, and is now based in Edinburgh with her husband Pierre Puyrigaud and two young children, Zoe (11) and Marie (6).
